We reply to the questions of some of our guests how best of all James Bond Island and Sea Gipsies' Island (artificial island Panyii) is to be reached by a boat.
We know two possibilities:

1.) Rent a longtail boat in the north of Phangngaa Bay at Surakul or Thadan Pier. This variation is suited for farangs using a rental car.

2.) Rent a longtail boat at Bang Rong Pier at the east coast of Phuket Island and have a transfer there / from there by a taxi. If wanted, ECOT could do these jobs for you.

It's a good idea to hire a boat for only 3 hours and not to stop at Khao Phingkan Island, opposite of James Bond Island, because it is overcrowded by tourists. Save 200 Baht entrance fee per person. Let the skipper go slowly one lap around: Time and opportunities enough to enjoy the location and to take nice pictures. The price for boat rental should be about 3.000 Baht plus a tip. The boat is convenient for up to 6 - 8 persons.

Have a stop at Panyii Island for lunch and shopping. Panyii Island is not a real island, but an artificial one made of empty oil barrels, wooden beams and foamed material. People live on seafood hatchery and touristic service. They own a mosque, offer some restaurants, and shops, shops, shops ...

Take up the time for a lunch of fresh seafood, for taking colored pictures, for shopping and for dealing. They have no fixed prices and have fun on dealing with you. If you do not meet your boatman at the time you want going back: Don't care! He did not escape (of course you should not pay fully him in advance !). He has lunch too, is chatting with friends or visiting a barber shop. Tell any other boatman your wish to depart and your boatman will emerge soon.

Half an hour before your estimated arrival time at Bang Rong Pier call ECOT. We will care about your taxi for pickup.
