Yao Noi Island ("the small long one") is one of the favorite aims of ECO Guesthouse's guests. Here is a short description of a day trip. Yao Noi can be reached comfortably with a traditional wooden long tail boat. In the central ship shady seats are available, on the foredeck such ones with sun, wind and splash-water. Merchandise travels on the roof. |

The boat drives several times daily off Bang Rong Pier at Phuket's east coast. The passage to Manok Pier in the south of Yao Noi Island including an intermediate stop at Chonglad Pier in the north of the sister island Yao Yai ("the large long one") takes approximately 50 minutes. Transportation fee is 120 Baht for the simple distance. |

If you do not bring along your own bicycle, you depend on one of the few tuk-tuks. We rent "Willie's" for half a day. He was a kind young man, who droves around us gladly and replied our questions politely. His tuk-tuk has been brought onto the island by a raft. Private cars are not available there, however the inevitable motorcycles. The island proves as an oasis for cyclists. The round course at the island's southern part as we drove is in a good condition. Half a day is not sufficient to explore the island from south to north. We present three accommodations, we assume from they could please ECO Guesthouse's guests too. They are a choice of all the accommodations we visited on Willie's recommending. The order is by numerals in the map. |
| A) Holiday Resort: #4 in the map. A hotel facility separated from the beach by the coastal road. The large lobby with the restaurant offers a magnificent view of the Phangngaa bay with its lime stone rocks. Accommodation in bungalows with and without air condition. |

If you do not like resorts in grand style and of exposed concrete in this vacation: Here is the right place! A dozen free standing little houses in traditional Thai style from wood in a spacious palm grove directly by the sea. Be aware of coconuts and protect against insects by mosquito nets. No air condition disturbs you by its cold air stream, no road with its noise. The next road is 700 m away. |

The resort's own website: http://www.lomlae.com After visiting the resort, I state that the website presents the reality of the facility without exaggerations and half truths. My hint: Take along the books you wanted to read since long time. In the Lom'Lae, with its "wind from the sea", you will find the leisure to read them. |
